I just graduated with my PhD 10 months ago. In spite of the numerous books I have read on qualitative research, this book has proven to bring it all together as it relates to coding data for analysis.

All I can say is - just get it. I'm using it for my dissertation. This book is more in line with the " methods sourcebook" by the same author. It catalogs a set of coding profiles for first and second cycle of coding.
While catalog is interesting and useful as a reference, the postscript about how to use the coding profiles and how to manage the coding process in each cycle is most useful, coding dissertation qualitative research.
